RAINBIRDS & DRUMBEATS

For East Midlands Caribbean Carnival Arts Network (EMCCAN).

 
 

This production, at Nottingham Playhouse, was for the 2013 EMCCAN Carnival Queen contest. I led a series of weekly workshops, developing ideas with the participants, then rehearsed for just five days to present a one-hour community/professional show that was followed by the Carnival Queen contest. I was greatly helped by excellent highly supportive production and creative teams, as well as a group of participants – professional and non-professional - who threw themselves into a highly ambitious project from the first day through to their thrilling performance.
