I have always written stories, usually in the form of plays or lyrics to musical theatre songs that have some type of narrative. A lot of my music compositions are conceived as stories of sorts, with a theme developing and going on a kind of journey. So stories are central to my work. Very occasionally I sit down and write a short story that, unlike a blog say, is not about what is currently on my mind or an extended diary, but a memory or an idea.
