In my role as Artistic Director of Nitro I was the producer of several projects, mainly festivals such as Nitrobeat and A Nitro At The Opera. These were essentially events that gave opportunities to artists to create new work in the fields of music theatre and opera. Often the events included workshops and debates running alongside the performances.
More recently, with the reality of the first covid lockdowns in 2020 hitting home and trying to find ways of interacting with my fellow creative artists, I partnered with Australian producer Katrina Douglas to develop Juxta, again a platform for artists to create new work, this time both live and online. With Juxta however, the audience is not passive, but participates to the extent of being curatorial, determining exactly what is performed.
