This was a musical adaptation of the novel Railton Blues by David Simon, who is credited with me as co-writer of this production. Directed by Teddy Keindl and starring Debby Bishop, Norman Beaton and Vivienne Rochester, this was my first play as either a writer or composer – so it occupies a rather warm place in my memories. Blues for Railton was commissioned and produced by the Albany Empire – at the time the best theatre in England.
